In September 2008, Mitch Dowd released the world's first carbon neutral underwear and sleepwear range. In this second phase of Mitch Dowd's environmental initiatives, responsibility has now been extended by not only using environmentally friendly fabrics but also by controlling emissions throughout the supply chain – from start to finish - such as factory and transportation.

All products in the carbon neutral range are made from only the highest quality organic materials using Oekotec certified manufacturing techniques.

Minimizing all dyeing, finishing, dyestuffs and auxiliaries across the Green range, Mitch Dowd has additionally prohibited the use of formaldehyde, heavy metals, and any harmful or hazardous substances in the processing of the materials; meeting the strict requirements of the Global Organic Textiles Standard.

In addition, minimalist styling has been employed throughout the dyeing and printing process, using a softer colour palette, thereby reducing the amount of dyestuff and processing required in the production of both the fabric and trims.

An extensive LCA has been undertaken to determine the carbon impact of producing the world's first underwear range. Mitch Dowd purchase carbon credits to make sure their comfy garments leave no environmental footprint - only a sense of wellbeing on your skin.

Mitch Dowd are an iconic Australian underwear, sock and sleepwear label. The sell-out 'Green by Mitch Dowd' organic cotton and bamboo range comprises innovative new fabrics and earthy tones.

From hoodies to three-quarter length pants for women and boxer shorts, trunks and T-shirts for men, this offering is set to establish a positive trend in Australia, one that Mitch Dowd hopes will grow in popularity as companies become more environmentally conscious.
